R.S. Jhunjhunwala English Debate

The late Shri R.S. Jhunjhunwala was an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) from where he retired in 1985. Shri R.S. Jhunjhunwala was born in 1930 and studied commerce & law. Not from a very well to do family, he was assisted by others with financial support for his education. That support allowed him to write & qualify the civil services examinations. His personal experience left an indelible mark on him and post his retirement, he setup The R. Jhunjhunwala foundation as Founding Trustee with the active support of his sons, Rajesh and Rakesh Junjhunwala. Shri R. Jhunjhunwala was involved in many charitable initiatives. He was ? (A) president ICL Education Society, that runs one college & two schools Vashi educating about 9000 students a year. (B) president Mahila Mandal, Udaipur. A sixty year old institution running a higher secondary schools for girls, a cottage industry, a hostel for 100 girls from tribal areas providing for their education and maintenance and a public library for other activities. (C) Associated with Jan Sahai Samiti, Hyderabad, Indian council of Mental Hygiene, skills and ability school Nerul and Consumer Guidance Society of Indian. (d) He was also keenly interested in music & fine art. He helped promote Rasik Sangam an organisation devoted to culture, music & arts and also served as president of Kal Ke Kalakar Sangeet Samelan, Mumbai. Shri R.S. Jhunjhunwala was a well known philanthropist & as educationist who helped and guided us in our efforts. We dedicate this debate to the fond memory of Shri R.S. Jhunjhunwala who dedicated his life to the cause of education and welfare of the society.

DVP organized Sh. R S Jhunjhunwala Memorial English Debate on 9th August, 2015 at the school premises. About 32 leading CBSE schools from all over India participated to deliver their debate for the motion and against the motion on the topic ?Punishment for Wrong Doing is Divinely Ordained. ? We dedicate this Debate to the fond memory of Shri R. S. Jhunjhunwala who dedicated his life to the cause of education and welfare of the society. The Birla Shishu Vihar, Pilani lifted Running Trophy. Best speakers- Himakshi Alaria from Birla Shishu Vihar, Pilani clinched first position and awarded cash prize of Rs. 15,100/-, Hamir Singh from BRCM Public School, Vidyagram, Bahal earned second position and awared 12,100/- and Himanshi Sharma from Pilani Public School, Pilani got third position and awarded cash prize Rs. 9100/- respectively, Deeksha Bareth from Mody School, Laxmangarh and Kumar Vinayak from Birla Public School, Pilani bagged motivational prize worth of Rs. 2,500/- each. The debate was of very high standard and earned a lot of appreciation from the packed audience. Dr. L. Solanki Principal B. K. Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani was the Chief Guest of the debate and Ranbir Singh, President (IPTA) Jaipur preside over the function. Judges Dr. Abhimanyu Singh, Prof. Mohit of Rajasthan University, Jaipur and Dr. K. D. Yadav evaluated the speakers. The debate was conducted in two sessions.

We dedicate this Debate to the fond memory of Shri R. S. Jhunjhunwala who dedicated his life to the cause of education and welfare of the society. The Mody School, Laxmangarh lifted Running Trophy. Best speakers- Aditi Priya from Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani clinched first position and awarded cash prize of Rs. 15,100/-, Neha Nihalani from Mody School, Laxmangarh earned second position and awared 12,100/- and Ashwin Mishra from Birla School, Pilani got third position and awarded cash prize Rs. 9100/- respectively, Vanshita Sachdeva from S.V. Public School, Jaipur and Ridhhi Jain from Mody School, Laxmangarh bagged motivational prize worth of Rs. 2,500/- each. The debate was of very high standard and earned a lot of appreciation from the packed audience. C.A. Rajesh Kumar Radheyshyam Jhunjhunwal, R. Jhunjhunwala Foundation, Mumbai was the Chief Guest of the debate and judges Dr. Bandana Chakrabarty, Prof. Supriya Agarwal and Dr. D. C. Sharma of Centre University of Rajasthan, Jaipur evaluated the speakers. The debate was conducted in two sessions.

Shekhawati Sahodaya Schools Complex JhunJhunu Hindi Debate(Seniors)

DUNDLOD VIDYAPEETH, DUNDLOD

Shekhawati Sahodaya Schools Complex JhunJhunu entrusted our school to host Shekhawti Sahodaya schools Hindi Debate (senior group) which was organized at DVP premises on 31st July 2013. Schools from the District Jhunjhunu and Churu participated in the debate. In the contest Birla Shishu Vihar Pilani lifted the Running Trophy and three students namely Rishika Deswal from Birla Balika Vidyapeeth bagged first position, Himakshi and Chaya Nagwan from Birla Shishu Vihar, Pilani clinched second & third position respectively. Capt Alokesh Sen (Retd) Chairman Shekhawati Sahodayha School Complex Jhunjhunu was the chief Guest and Sh. G K Nagpal and Dr. K D Yadav were the guest of honours of the debate.
